Berdyansk Airport (Ukrainian: Бердянськ Аеропорт, Russian: Бердянск Аэропорт) (IATA: ERD, ICAO: UKDB) is an airport in Berdyansk, Ukraine. The airport is located 1.5 km (0.93 mi) north of the city.
On January 19, 1987, Aeroflot Yakovlev Yak-40 (CCCP-87826) was approaching airport with tailwind in a heavy rain shower and touched down at a high speed. A go-around was initiated, but later aborted. The aircraft overran the runway, struck some obstacles and caught fire. The aircraft was written off (damaged beyond repair).[1]
